Digital Government
Citizen Engagement
Government agencies and departments are constantly looking for ways to improve their engagement and interaction with the people they serve, and that search has crossed into the digital realm. Apps can provide information about amenities in a town, for instance, or improve government-to-citizen engagement in specific locations such as libraries and educational institutions.
Tagit was among the first three startups in Singapore to be formally accredited by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore. Developments using the innovative Mobeix™ mobility platform can move through the government’s fast-track process of procurement, should an agency wish to develop digital services for end users.

One of the first major projects that Tagit engaged with in the Smart Nation initiative was the digital strategy for the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. Tagit partnered with NLB to develop a mobile app that allows citizens to achieve outcomes that have traditionally required much more time and effort, all from the convenience of their smart device.
Users can search for a book through the mobile app or scan barcodes to retrieve a wealth of information from the internet. Author details, plot synopses and user reviews can deliver a much richer reader experience, while library-specific features such as book availability and reservations are placed at the user’s fingertips.
Tagit has also built in deeper functionality, such as enabling consumers to make payments for overdue books through secure gateways in the app. A dedicated section to promote upcoming events at the library, such as author Q&A sessions or seasonal festivities, is also available, with ticket sales and management all conducted within the app.
“Accredited vendor with the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore”
Tagit has the capability to build apps for sectors including:
• Education
• Citizen Wellness
Government initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles amongst the populace and provide more direct fitness and wellness initiatives are also part of their Smart Nation strategies. Additional features may include:
• Government-to-citizen communications
Opening avenues of communication between governments and their constituents is a core tenet of a Smart Nation strategy. By offering secure messaging inboxes and real-time feedback functionality, Tagit can facilitate the development of new engagement channels between agencies and the people they serve. Access to statistics on population and the economy can also be provided, all through an app built on the foundation of Mobeix™.
