Maybank Singapore and Tagit win big at The Asian Banker Technology Implementation Awards 2014

Leading retail bank and mobile technology partner scoop Best Single Country Mobile Banking Project accolade

Singapore, May 27, 2014 – Maybank Singapore and its mobile technology partner, Tagit, are proud to announce their win in the Best Single Country Mobile Banking Project category at The Asian Banker Technology Implementations Awards 2014. Competing with over 60 banks from across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, the mobile banking implementation project by Maybank Singapore and Tagit, outshone the other submissions during the stringent judging process, emerging as the most innovative solution to showcase how IT can deliver significant benefits in banking.

Presented on 21st May at The Asian Banker Summit 2014 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, The Asian Banker Technology Implementation Awards recognize outstanding work by banks and technology providers in Asia Pacific. The program is designed to identify emerging best practices in technology implementations and innovative approaches to reaching goals and overcoming challenges from which other banks and vendors can learn.

Tagit first began working with Maybank Singapore in late 2011. The Maybank SG mobile application was first launched in August 2012, on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for all iOS and Android devices. New and enhanced features have since been added to the app, including the Maybank Mobile Money peer-to-peer payment service which was launched in November 2013. The service marks Maybank Singapore’s commitment to delivering service innovation to its customers while recognizing that customers are increasingly turning to electronic channels for their banking needs.

“Through our partnership with Tagit, we have been able to enrich the experience we provide to our customers via the mobile channel. This is in line with our vision of continuing to personalize our financial services across Asia and our ongoing commitment to addressing the changing mobile lifestyle needs of our customers. We are delighted to receive such excellent recognition for our mobile banking service as we continue to pave our way as a leader in this space,” Miss Cynthia Liaw, Head, Virtual Banking & Payments, Maybank Singapore, said.

“We are extremely pleased to receive this award with Maybank Singapore. It is testament to our partnership model of working with leading banks such as Maybank in delivering innovative products and services to their customers on the mobile channel,” Mr Sandeep Bagaria, CEO of Tagit, said.
